  • 6 cups water
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups tomato puree (or crushed tomatoes)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella (optional, for a creamier touch)

Fresh parsley, chopped

In a large saucepan, bring salted water to the point of boiling and add the pasta cook till it is al at a gentle. Then drain it and toss with olive oil, then set the pasta aside.

The olive oil is heated in the skillet. Sauté garlic until fragrant. It should take about 30 seconds. Then add the tomato puree, oregano, basil powder and sugar. Add salt and pepper. Allow it to simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Mix it frequently till it has thickened to a thick, fragrant sauce.
